We had our final crit today! Great projects concluding our brief2B:Realize. Here are couple pictures. Toby Burgess and I are very happy to announce that HAYAM – Temple to Sunlight, designed by Josh Haywood of Diploma Studio 10, University of Westminster, has won the Burning Man Art Grant. Similarly to last year’s amazing experience building Shipwreck and Fractal Cult, we will develop the project with the help of engineers at Ramboll Computational Design and will travel to Burning Man in August to realize the project. Josh Haywood has just sent the great pictures below of the latest prototypes in which we are lashing the plywood pieces together.

The academic year is almost over, the graduation show and prize ceremony is in two weeks. Toby and I just assessed everyone’s portfolios with the help of other tutors from Westminster. This is a very stimulating day in which all the studios’ year-long student work is seen and its diversity revealed. Students could not be part of the process and witness the efforts and beauty of the some of the work so here it is, a little selection of some of our most creative portfolios this year:
